I worked in optometry for a long time, retiring in 2011 and then becoming a tutor. I worked with many people of all ages and backgrounds during my career, and I use a lot of the same communication techniques with my students. I specialize in math tutoring, and it's always very gratifying when a subject clicks for student and they begin to develop an appreciation and understanding of math. I'm also certified as an academic coach and a tutor by the National Tutoring Association. I can assist students in algebra, trigonometry, pre-algebra, elementary school math, middle school math, and test preparation for the ACT, SAT, or GED. In my spare time, I like to play the piano, play Scrabble, ride my bike, and play tennis.
